Shade that earns its keep
In Central Texas, a covered space is not a luxury. The sun fades paint on vehicles, cracks dashboards and turns a back patio into a griddle by early afternoon from May through September. Hail storms that roll across Bell and Williamson Counties every spring can do real damage to anything parked in the open. A well-built carport or patio cover protects what you own and gives you a usable outdoor space most of the year.
We build attached covers that tie into your home's roofline and freestanding structures that sit on their own posts, in wood or with metal roofing to match a barn-style or farmhouse look. The photo shows an attached cover with dark posts over a concrete slab on a white barn-style home, the kind of clean, simple design that fits rural properties around Cameron and Hearne.
Built for wind, rain and our soil
A cover is essentially a roof on legs, and in open country it catches a lot of wind. Posts need proper footings or anchors so they don't shift as clay soil swells and shrinks, and the connection to the house has to be flashed so rain runs off the cover instead of into your wall. We size beams and rafters for the span and pay attention to roof pitch so water drains away from doors and walkways.
Before we build, we look at where your vehicles park, where the afternoon sun hits, and how rainwater currently moves across the yard. If you need a slab poured or extended, we can plan that into the job. Some cities and HOAs have rules about setbacks and permits, so we will help you sort out what applies to your property before work begins.
